What is Achilles tendinopathy?
The achilles tendon is the longest tendon the body and it is a springy band of tissue at the back of the ankle and above your heel.
It allows you to point and flex your toes/feet.
Where the tendon it is being overused, stepping up your exercise too quickly, wearing high heels muscles or tendons in the leg that are too tight it can cause a tendinitis whereby the tendon can become very swollen and painful.
In severe achilles tendon injury it can tear partially or rupture completely.
