Is a condition that leads to pain and stiffness at the gleno-humeral joint of the shoulder (1 of the 4 joints found at the shoulder). The capsule that surrounds this joint inflames and thickens which is the causative factor to reduced mobility.
Symptoms will worsen over the months and years. Typically shoulder pain is experienced for the 1st two to nine months (this can be severe) and follows increasing stiffness.
The condition does improve with time (much better outcomes with osteopathy) without treatment this condition can take several years to improve. The onset of a frozen shoulder is poorly understood although risk factors such as diabetes, a previous shoulder injury and heart disease have been observed.
